About Robin HughesRobin Hughes is a local resident who was born in Winchester. He was one of three children, brought up and educated in Andover. He was educated at the East Street Church of England Primary School, Andover Secondary Boys School, Andover and Cricklade College Andover. Robin is married to Roslyn and the family home is at 6 Launcelot Close, King Arthurs Way, Andover Hants. All their children have attended the Knights Enham Infant and Knights Enham Junior schools and local comprehensive schools. Robin has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electronic Engineering and has worked in both the education and defence sectors. He is currently employed as a Research and Development Trials Engineer by a world leading air countermeasure manufacturer. Previous to this Robin was the IT Services Manager at Cricklade College, Andover. He has also been employed by the MOD at RAE Larkhill. On a number of occasions Robin has successfully stood for election as a local councillor. For thirteen years, 1994 to 2007 Robin had the privilege to represent the community where he lives as a Test Valley Borough Councillor. For four years, 2005 to 2009 Robin was elected to the Hampshire County Council also representing the area and electoral division where he lives. For many years Robin has been an active in the local community. He has been a school governor since 1991, serving on the governing bodies of Harrow Way Community School and the Knights Enham Schools. He is the Chair of Governors at Knights Enham Junior School. Robin has been a member of the Blenheim Hall management committee (now King Arthurs Hall) since 1994. In 2007 the hall management committee became the Alamein Community Association. Robin is a Trustee of the Alamein Community Association and its current Chairman.
